Atlanta is celebrating the grand opening of Evolve Contractors’ new Atlanta headquarters at 1122 Old Chattahoochee Avenue NW. Mayor Andre Dickens joined community leaders, partners, and supporters for the ribbon-cutting, highlighting the company’s rapid rise and its commitment to building opportunity across the city.
Founded in 2022 with an initial $10,000 investment, Evolve Contractors has grown in just three years into a $4 million commercial roofing firm with a 5,000-square-foot facility, projects across Atlanta, and a newly opened office in Birmingham, Alabama.
A Story of Growth and Community
Evolve’s journey began in a 50-square-foot huddle room at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, an incubator for minority contractors. Today, the company is recognized as a leading roofing and waterproofing contractor on Centennial Yards, one of the nation’s most transformational urban redevelopment projects.
Mayor Dickens praised the company’s growth as “the kind of success we want to see in Atlanta: growth that is inclusive, innovative, and community-driven.”
Investing in Atlanta’s Workforce
Under the leadership of Georgia Tech alum Channing Baker, Evolve has made community hiring and training central to its mission. Ninety percent of its hires live in Atlanta, keeping paychecks in local households and building economic stability.
Through its hands-on training program, Evolve equips high school students, college students, and young adults with the skills to pursue lasting careers in construction and roofing.
“Local contractors like Evolve are moving Atlanta forward,” Mayor Dickens said. “They bring good jobs into our communities, deliver projects that keep neighborhoods strong, and help us meet our commitment to more affordable housing across this city. This is what it means to build a city of opportunity for all.”
Building on Atlanta’s Legacy
The Mayor also connected Evolve’s growth to the legacy of former Mayor Maynard Jackson, who opened doors for Black-owned businesses in Atlanta.
“What we see with Evolve today is that legacy in action,” Mayor Dickens said. “Channing Baker has taken the door that Mayor Jackson opened and is proving that Atlanta companies can deliver on the biggest stages.”
What’s Next
With its new headquarters, Evolve is well-positioned to expand its portfolio of major projects, continue investing in the local workforce, and serve as a model for inclusive growth in Atlanta’s construction industry.
Mayor Dickens closed with a call to action: “I want to call on every general contractor, developer, and property owner in Atlanta to make inclusivity, innovation, and community impact a part of everything they build. That’s how we create an Atlanta that works for everyone.”
