Families in Southwest Atlanta will soon have easier access to pediatric healthcare thanks to a new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta practice opening in the Adamsville neighborhood.
Mayor Andre Dickens joined Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta leaders, community members and healthcare partners on Monday to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Children’s Adamsville Pediatrics, a new primary care practice that will begin serving patients on June 29.
Located at 3571 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, the practice expands Children’s pediatric primary care services on Atlanta’s Westside as an extension of the Hughes Spalding Primary Care Clinic.
Bringing Care Closer to Home
For many families, the new location means shorter drives for doctor’s appointments and easier access to routine checkups, vaccinations and other primary care services for children.
During the ceremony, Mayor Dickens reflected on his own connection to the neighborhood.
“There’s no place like home. I grew up in this neighborhood, so I’m always glad to see organizations investing in the community that raised me.”
The Mayor said the investment represents the kind of neighborhood-focused development the City is working to encourage through its Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative.
“Every Atlanta neighborhood deserves access to opportunity. Every family deserves access to quality healthcare. And every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and strong,” he said.
Investing in the Next Generation
In addition to caring for patients, the Adamsville practice will also serve as a training site for future pediatricians through partnerships with Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta leaders said the new location reflects the organization’s continued commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare while strengthening the communities it serves.
The practice is expected to help more Atlanta families receive pediatric care closer to home while supporting the next generation of healthcare providers.
Children’s Adamsville Pediatrics officially opens to patients on June 29.
