Atlanta showed up for itself this weekend.

Across multiple events from Friday through Saturday, residents, employees, artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders came together to celebrate 404 Day, highlighting the people and culture that continue to shape the city’s identity and future.

Andre Dickens joined celebrations throughout the weekend, thanking City employees, recognizing local changemakers, and emphasizing continued investments in safer neighborhoods, youth opportunity, affordable housing, and infrastructure.

City Hall kicks off the celebration with Taste ATL

The weekend began Friday with Taste ATL: Constituent and Employee Appreciation Day inside the City Hall Atrium, where employees and residents gathered to celebrate Atlanta’s culinary creativity, music, wellness offerings, and small businesses.

More than 300 attendees participated in the event, which also featured proclamations honoring community leaders, cultural voices, and local businesses helping shape Atlanta’s influence nationwide.

During remarks, Mayor Dickens thanked City employees for the work they do each day to keep Atlanta moving forward.

He emphasized that the people answering calls, maintaining infrastructure, supporting youth, protecting neighborhoods, and balancing the budget are the foundation of the city’s progress.

A Day in the A brings the celebration downtown

Later Friday evening, the celebration continued with A Day in the A, a block party along Mitchell Street that brought together residents, Downtown workers, students, and families.

With live music from DJ NovaSkai and more than 400 attendees expected throughout the evening, the event highlighted the artists, entrepreneurs, and neighbors who keep Atlanta’s culture vibrant.

Mayor Dickens noted that while 404 Day celebrates Atlanta’s energy and creativity, it also reflects the city’s commitment to building stronger neighborhoods and expanding opportunity for families across Atlanta.

Celebrating the culture that connects Atlanta

From City Hall to Downtown streets to Underground Atlanta, 404 Day weekend reflected what makes Atlanta unique: creativity, community pride, and a shared commitment to moving the city forward together.

As Mayor Dickens noted throughout the weekend, the celebration is not only about honoring Atlanta’s culture today — it is also about continuing the work that ensures every neighborhood can thrive in the years ahead.
