A key Midtown corridor is now safer and easier to navigate following completion of the Juniper Complete Street Project, marked Thursday by a ribbon cutting led by Chief Operating Officer LaChandra Butler Burks on behalf of Mayor Andre Dickens.

The improvements along Juniper Street NE include new pavement, updated lane design, protected bike facilities, enhanced crosswalks, signal upgrades, and stormwater planters—changes designed to support safer travel for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users alike.

“Juniper Street is a key connection through Midtown,” Burks said during the ceremony. “It carries people to work, to class, to small businesses, and back home again.”

Atlanta Says NO MORE campaign reduces domestic violence homicides through community awareness and coordinated response
Silence the Shame's mission is to empower and educate communities on mental health and wellness.

The project reflects collaboration between the Atlanta Department of Transportation, Midtown Alliance, and community partners to improve mobility and accessibility along a corridor that connects residents and visitors to destinations across Midtown and Downtown.

Upgrades also strengthen access to major institutions including Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, while supporting Atlanta’s Vision Zero goals to create safer streets citywide.

City leaders noted that projects like Juniper Street demonstrate how coordinated infrastructure investments improve everyday travel while preparing Atlanta for continued growth.

“As we prepare to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and continue to grow as a global city, corridors like this play an important role in how people experience Atlanta,” Burks said.

The completed corridor reflects the City’s ongoing focus on safety, connectivity, and building transportation networks that serve residents now and into the future.
