Atlanta families can still sign up for the Atlanta Parks and Recreation Boys & Girls Soccer program, with the season beginning May 7 at recreation centers across the city.

Open to children ages 5 to 12, the program gives young players a chance to learn the game, stay active, and build teamwork skills close to home — while connecting Atlanta’s youngest residents to the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

“Our Boys and Girls Soccer program is now open, and the season begins May 7,” said Cedric Jordan, Athletic Director with Atlanta Parks and Recreation. “It’s a great opportunity for kids ages 5 to 12 to get outside, learn the game, and have fun playing soccer right here in their neighborhoods.”

Soccer Opportunities Start in Atlanta’s Neighborhoods

The Boys & Girls Soccer program is part of Atlanta Parks and Recreation’s year-round effort to expand access to safe, structured youth activities at recreation centers throughout Atlanta.

Practices and games take place locally, making it easier for families to participate while helping young players build confidence, friendships, and healthy routines through sports. Programs like this support the City’s Year of the Youth strategy by creating more opportunities for children to stay engaged in positive environments after school and throughout the season.

Helping the Next Generation Get FIFA Ready

With eight FIFA World Cup matches coming to Atlanta in 2026, neighborhood soccer programs are helping introduce more children to the sport while building excitement across the city ahead of the tournament.

“It’s one more way we’re getting Atlanta ready to welcome the world,” Jordan added.

Registration fees are:

  • Atlanta residents: $75 per participant
  • Non-residents: $150 per participant

Practice schedules vary by recreation center. Families should contact their local center for dates and times.
