As Atlanta’s nightlife scene continues to grow, so does the pace of change shaping how venues operate after dark. At City Hall on Wednesday, November 12, nightlife and hospitality professionals gathered for Training Day—an event focused on what the next chapter of the city’s after-hours economy will look like.

The sessions centered on one theme: the future is coming quickly. Speakers walked participants through what autonomous vehicles, new delivery systems, and evolving mobility patterns could mean for late-night businesses. Public safety officials also shared how technology is reshaping incident response and coordination, offering a clearer picture of how venues can prepare for a changing environment.

A fireside conversation between Mayor Andre Dickens and Dia Simms brought the big picture into focus. They spoke about entertainment as an economic engine, how the city can support those who keep Atlanta vibrant after hours, and the role innovation will play in keeping the industry strong.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees compared notes on best practices, discussed real-world challenges, and explored how curated programming and stronger coordination can help nightlife continue to thrive. The event offered a space for the people behind Atlanta’s night economy to think collectively about what’s ahead—and how to stay ready for it.
