THE DREAM Delivers for Atlanta’s Youth

A sold-out benefit concert at The Fox raises $137K for college scholarships—and shows the power of community in action

What does it look like when a city shows up for its young people? In Atlanta, it looks like 1,300 residents gathering at The Fox Theatre on a Sunday afternoon—dressed to celebrate and ready to invest in the future.

On July 13, the city hosted this year’s edition of THE DREAM, a signature summer benefit that raised $137,000 for college scholarships through the Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program (MYSP). The event is part of Mayor Andre Dickens’ broader mission to make Atlanta the best place in the country to raise a child.

From live performances to local vendors and a packed house, THE DREAM combined entertainment with purpose—and brought Atlanta’s unmistakable culture to center stage.

The crowd included young professionals, artists, changemakers, and longtime residents, all gathered with one goal: helping the next generation succeed. That spirit of collective action echoed throughout the theater, reminding everyone that real opportunity comes from community.

Music legends including Rick Ross, Yung Joc, Lil Scrappy, Young Dro, Pastor Troy, Lloyd, Sean Garrett, and Trinidad James had the crowd on their feet. They shared the stage with rising talent and hometown favorites like Tulani, Power Play Productions, and Mix Master David—underscoring one simple message: Atlanta’s culture powers Atlanta’s future.

But this wasn’t just a feel-good moment. It delivered real results. Every dollar raised supports Atlanta students pursuing higher education—helping remove financial barriers and open doors.

    “A Vision for Atlanta’s Future”

Hosts Sara Redd and Demetrius McCray led the program with energy and heart, joined by KBotchy and Arrianna Marie, who kept the spotlight on the youth.

“Tonight isn’t just about the music or the moment,” McCray told the crowd. “It’s about planting seeds of opportunity for the future of Atlanta.”

Mayor Dickens echoed that in his remarks:
“It starts here, in this room, with this community. Our youth deserve more than just a dream. They deserve a future that’s funded, protected, and full of possibilities.”

    Powered by Partners Who Believe

None of it would be possible without generous sponsors committed to seeing Atlanta’s youth thrive. This year’s partners included:

Atlanta Life Insurance Company, VyStar Credit Union, Bevel, Microsoft, Healthcare Solutions, Meals on Wheels, The Atlanta Dream, Perimeter College at Georgia State University, JR Law Group, Gregory Levett & Sons, and Vibe Tribe University.

Their support helps MYSP provide scholarships to more than 150 students each year—creating real pathways to college, careers, and long-term success.

This Is What Community Looks Like

THE DREAM isn’t just an event. It’s a movement. A reminder of what happens when a city shows up, stands together, and invests in its youth—not just with words, but with action.
