A New Beginning for Westside Homeownership
A new chapter is unfolding on Atlanta’s historic Westside. Last Friday, Mayor Andre Dickens joined developer Booker T. Washington, Grammy Award–winning artist Michael “Killer Mike” Render, and community partners to celebrate the demolition at 412 James P. Brawley Drive—making way for The Park at Brawley, TechieHomes’ first affordable micro-condo community in Central Atlanta.

The $5 million project represents another step toward Mayor Dickens’ goal of creating or preserving 20,000 affordable housing units by 2030.

“Atlanta’s Westside deserves investment that honors the people who built it and the stories that started here,” said Mayor Andre Dickens. “When we talk about keeping Atlanta, Atlanta—this is what we mean. Projects like this make sure every Atlantan, no matter their zip code, can share in our city’s success.”

What’s Coming: The Park at Brawley
The Park at Brawley will feature 18 energy-efficient micro condos, offering two- and three-bedroom layouts priced under $300,000. Each unit will include smart-home integration and sustainable features that make homeownership affordable without compromise.

Located minutes from downtown Atlanta, the project joins TechieHomes’ growing portfolio of micro-communities, including South Park Cottages, Union Park Cottages, and North Park Cottages. Pre-sales are expected to begin in spring 2026, with construction starting later that year.

A Partnership Rooted in Community
For Michael “Killer Mike” Render, this project hits close to home. The lot at 412 James P. Brawley Drive was one of his first real estate purchases. Now, it’s being transformed into a development that will help other families build wealth and stability.

“This lot is personal for Mike,” Mayor Dickens added. “He and TechieHomes are turning it into something that helps other families build generational wealth. That’s Atlanta—always finding a way to build for the next person coming behind us.”

Developer Booker T. Washington, CEO of TechieHomes, said his goal is to bring innovation, equity, and sustainability to urban development.

By the Numbers
• Total Development Value: $5 million
• Homes: 18 two- and three-bedroom micro condos
• Pricing: Below $300,000
• Type: Affordable homeownership (not rental)
• Pre-Sales Launch: Spring 2026
• Construction Start: 2026

Building Opportunity for All
Mayor Dickens’ administration continues to prioritize housing affordability and neighborhood reinvestment across Atlanta’s historic communities. From Westside projects like The Park at Brawley to new housing initiatives across the city, the focus remains clear—creating safe, connected, and affordable places for residents to call home.
