A Night of Celebration and Reflection

On Saturday evening, the Georgia Aquarium shimmered with warmth and reverence as hundreds gathered to celebrate the 20th pastoral anniversary of Reverend Dr. Raphael G. Warnock, Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. The elegant black-tie event brought together faith leaders, elected officials, and longtime members of the Atlanta community to reflect on two decades of ministry rooted in service, justice, and love.

Honoring a Legacy of Leadership

Mayor Andre Dickens joined the evening’s lineup of distinguished guests to share heartfelt remarks. “Reverend Dr. Warnock, through your service, your leadership, and your faithfulness, you have shown what love looks like in action,” he said, expressing gratitude on behalf of the City of Atlanta.

During his reflection, Mayor Dickens spoke of Rev. Warnock’s unique ability to bridge faith and public service—lifting people through both policy and pastoral care. “Whether the topic is human rights, voting rights, health equity, or economic opportunity,” Dickens said, “you have centered people through your ministry and through your service.”

The Spirit of Ebenezer

The evening’s program included moving performances and tributes from Senator Cory Booker, Dr. Angela Farris Watkins of the King family, and musical guests Israel Houghton and Anthony Hamilton. The celebration served as both a tribute to Rev. Warnock’s enduring commitment and a reminder of Ebenezer’s timeless mission to build Dr. King’s Beloved Community.

From his first sermon to his leadership as pastor and U.S. Senator, Rev. Warnock’s ministry has continued the legacy of justice, compassion, and inclusion that defines Atlanta’s moral and civic identity.

A Message for the Next Chapter

As the evening drew to a close, attendees rose to their feet in applause, honoring Rev. Warnock’s 20-year journey and the many lives touched along the way. Mayor Dickens concluded, “As you move into this next decade, may your coming years be filled with even greater purpose and power. God bless you, your family, and Ebenezer—and God bless the City of Atlanta.”
