ATLANTA—The Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD) and the City of Atlanta are excited to announce the opening of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the redevelopment of the City-owned property located at 0 Barge Road. This initiative is part of the City’s commitment to building or preserving 20,000 units of affordable housing by 2029, under the leadership of Mayor Andre Dickens.
“This RFQ represents a significant step towards revitalizing southwest Atlanta and ensuring our communities have access to quality, affordable housing,” said Mayor Dickens. “We are dedicated to creating neighborhoods that are equitable, healthy and thriving—and this project is a crucial part of that vision.”
The 10.98-acre site is located adjacent to the planned terminal station of the MARTA Campbellton Community Investment Corridor Bus Rapid Transit. It aims to integrate neighborhood amenities with mixed-income ownership housing.
AUD CEO John Majors emphasized the importance of this development, saying, “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to transforming public land into vibrant, amenity-rich communities with opportunity for home ownership. We invite qualified developers to join us in this historic endeavor to enhance the lives of residents in Atlanta.”
The RFQ is open to qualified developers who can demonstrate the technical and financial capacity necessary to launch redevelopment through a dynamic public-private partnership model. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM Eastern Time on October 10, 2025.
