Groceries, household supplies and everyday necessities can take a big bite out of a family’s budget. This weekend, Atlanta’s business, entertainment and nonprofit communities came together to help ease that burden.
On Saturday, October 24, Culture’s Big Give brought free food and essential supplies to Atlanta-area families and seniors at Roosevelt Hall.
The community service event, part of CultureBowl x iHeartMedia Week, was organized to support approximately 500 families and seniors with items including:
- Fresh produce and meats
- Shelf-stable groceries
- Household supplies
- Personal care essentials
Mayor Andre Dickens joined the event to recognize the organizations, businesses and volunteers working to support Atlanta residents.
The effort brought together CultureBowl, iHeartMedia, Atlanta Housing, Goodr, the Village Market and other community and corporate partners.
Why does this matter?
For families managing the rising costs of housing, childcare, transportation and groceries, receiving essential supplies can free up money for other household needs.
Culture’s Big Give also highlights Atlanta’s tradition of neighbors helping neighbors, with organizations across different sectors working together to provide practical support.
While the event lasted one day, its purpose reflects a broader commitment to building stronger, healthier neighborhoods where families have the resources and support they need to thrive.
