Power Atlanta partnered with the Mayor’s Office of Violence Reduction for a community day of service where about 50 volunteers provided hot meals, cold meals, and nonperishable items to 300–400 Atlanta families—supporting neighborhood needs and strengthening local safety efforts.
Who We’re Spotlighting
P.O.W.E.R. Atlanta Inc. is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded in 2020 with a clear purpose: to empower marginalized communities. The name itself—Providing Opportunities With Empowerment & Resources—reflects the organization’s mission to help people access the tools and support they need to thrive.
Why It Matters
At its core, P.O.W.E.R. Atlanta is more than a service organization—it’s a safe space where individuals facing poverty, instability, or isolation can find fellowship and healing. The group provides food, clothing, and personal care essentials while connecting residents to education, employment, and health resources. Each initiative centers on dignity and opportunity, helping Atlantans protect their wellbeing and build sustainable lives.
The Story
Through a recent partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Violence Reduction, P.O.W.E.R. Atlanta hosted a community food distribution event serving 300–400 families. Volunteers delivered both hot and cold meals alongside nonperishable groceries, addressing immediate neighborhood needs while building relationships that foster long-term stability and safety.
The partnership underscores a shared belief: that safer communities start with meeting basic human needs. “When we take care of one another, we reduce violence before it begins,” said Reginald Rainge of the Mayor’s Office of Violence Reduction.
