Atlanta City Hall was alive with energy Thursday night as hundreds gathered for the 7th Annual Mayor’s Pride Reception, a vibrant kickoff to Atlanta Pride Weekend. Under the soaring atrium lights and the sound of DJ Kenzie Q, the event radiated love, laughter, and the spirit of inclusion that defines Atlanta.

As the Atlanta Gay Men’s and Atlanta Women’s Choruses filled the hall with song, Mayor Andre Dickens made his entrance down the grand staircase to cheers and applause. He reminded attendees that diversity isn’t just celebrated in Atlanta—it’s part of the city’s foundation.

“We’ve worked hard to make Atlanta a place where everyone belongs,” said Mayor Dickens. “This city will always support and protect our LGBTQ+ community.”

The Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs, led by Director Dewayne Queen, produced the celebration, which honored community leaders and partners advancing equity across Atlanta. Sponsors like Gilead Sciences, Delta Air Lines, UPS, and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation helped make the night possible, supporting programs that create opportunity for all Atlantans.

This year’s Community Impact Award went to Blake Mitchell, recognized for outstanding leadership and service. The crowd cheered as the Mayor and honorees gathered for photos, capturing the moment on the black carpet before the night turned into a dance floor.

Between the music, food, and familiar faces, the night’s biggest theme was clear: Atlanta is moving forward—together.

“It takes all of us to keep Atlanta strong, inclusive, and united,” Mayor Dickens added. “That’s what Pride is all about.”

As guests mingled and danced beneath the rainbow lights, one thing was certain—Atlanta’s commitment to equality shines as bright as ever.
